An Education Adventure for Older People
The Ransackers project provides an opportunity for people over the age of 55, who have not previously benefited from further education. Participating Students spend one term at one of the colleges participating in the project and with the help of a tutor, produce an independent original research project in an area of personal interest.
Taking Part
You may qualify to take part in Ransackers if you:
- Are over the age of 55
- Would relish the opportunity to discover more about something that interests you
- Feel you have something to contribute
- Are wary of education because of past experiences
- Have a positive view about ‘growing’ older
- Want an education adventure with a taste of residential college life.
Participating Colleges
Colleges participating in the project are:
- Coleg Harlech (Wales)
- Plater College (Oxford)
- Ruskin College (Oxford)
- Newbattle Abbey College (near Edinburgh)
- Hillcroft women only (Surrey)
