Arthritis Care is the UK’s largest voluntary organisation working with and for people with arthritis. The overall aim is to empower people to take control of their arthritis and their lives.
In specific terms, Arthritis Care provides a very wide range of support and services, among which are:
- Providing clear and accurate information about arthritis. Helpline teams offer practical, confidential support backed up by a wealth of useful publications, including Arthritis News, a bi-monthly magazine.
- Running a range of self-management and personal development courses, giving people the confidence and skills to manage their arthritis and dramatically improve their quality of life.
- Putting people with arthritis in touch with each other through a network of nearly 600 branches, groups and local contacts. Arthritis Care also has offices throughout the UK.
- Campaigning for greater awareness of the needs of everyone with arthritis, improved services and an end to discrimination.
- Running four accessible hotels.
- Working closely with health professionals and other arthritis organisations in the UK and internationally.
