Transforming Cavendish Square
Swindon Borough Council has embarked on a fantastic project to transform Cavendish Square.
Work on the final homes has commenced and these will be finished this year. This will complete all building works on the residential element of this scheme.
On the retail works, the developer continues to market phase 3 of the site where the supermarket and public house were situated, and is hopeful of attracting shop tenants to allow this third and final phase to be built to complete the regeneration of Cavendish Square.
The plan will see the shopping centre rejuvenated, school facilities enhanced and new homes built. It will revamp community facilities creating a fantastic place to live, play and shop.
Cavendish Square was built as a centrepiece to a new Council housing estate in the 1960s. The council is working with the community and developers to return the area to its former glory. We intend to create a scheme of which to be proud.
Negotiations are continuing into this fantastic scheme so watch this space for further details as the project develops.
