Check the Price

If you have chosen a hall that suits the event you are planning, you will now want to know how much it is going to cost. Rates vary, depending on the type of organisation you are or the event you are planning - with some substantially reduced rates available to certain groups.

Working out which rate applies to you is easy. All you need to do is decide which of the following four categories best describes your organisation or your event. Telephone us on 01793 466486 if you require help with this. Follow the appropriate link, below, to move to the next stage.

The link below will direct you to a table which shows how we decide which price band each group falls underneath. In order to give you an insight into our pricing details, a chart is available as a downloadable PDF file:

Community Groups

These are non-profit-making and reflect at least one of the Council's objectives in their own aims and objectives:

Creating a Swindon for the future -

  • A learning and creative place
  • A healthy and caring place
  • An economically prosperous place
  • A place which values its environment, keeping Swindon safe

In order to benefit from this reduced rate the hirer must submit a completed reduced rate form, there are different ones appyling to non registered charities and registered charities.

These forms are available to download below. When completed, these should then be sent back to us with your booking forms. To qualify, the group must be constituted and be able to produce a set of audited accounts (if you are a new group, accounts can be submitted at the end of your first year), and may include religious or political groups where the beneficiaries of the activity can be determined as residents of Swindon.

Public Hire

These are groups that cannot be classed as community groups (see above). They can include political or religious groups (where the beneficiaries of the activity cannot be determined as residents of Swindon) or statutory organisations.

Private Hire

Generally, this means your event involves friends and family, like christenings, weddings, parties, etc, and is by invitation only.

Commercial Hire

Profit-making individuals or groups.
