Local Involvement Networks (LINks)

On this page: Information about the service plus contact details.

Swindon LINk

Local Involvement Networks are the main (but certainly not the only) mechanism for involving and engaging citizens in health and adult social care planning, influencing changes and improvements. LINk participants are also involved in scrutinising and commenting on the services that are being provided. There is a Local Involvement Network in each social services authority area - there is a separate one in Wiltshire County called WIN.

Swindon Borough Council supports the LINk with a small team of staff to help it develop. The LINk is not an organisation but a network of individuals and local groups. A steering group meets regularly to keep it on the right track and several thousand local people have already said they want to keep in touch and be involved in some way. Over 1200 receive a fortnightly e-bulletin too.

For more information, please see the Swindon LINk website (www.swindonlink.org) and NHS Choices: LINks (www.nhs.uk/NHSEngland/links/Pages/links-make-it-happen.aspx).
