On this page: Details about the types of information held and how to access them through making a Freedom of Information (FOI) enquiry.
The Freedom of Information Act 2000 gives a general right of access to all types of recorded information held by public authorities. It sets out some exemptions from that right, and imposes a number of other obligations on public authorities.
These pages are not a full statement of the law and they do not detail all of your rights.
Freedom of Information Enquiries
Many enquiries we received can be answered by referring to existing documents.
A large number of these are gathered together in the Freedom of Information Publication Scheme, so you should check this first to see if the answer to your question is included in that - please see Freedom of Information Publication Scheme.
