Children say thank you!

Summer 2009

When a group of Year 5s (9-10 year olds) from St Joseph's School attended Swindon Museum and Art Gallery, Education Officer Elaine Bennett was on hand to help. Along with leading discussions on the portraits in the Art Gallery, she also encouraged the children to draw their own. They wrote letters to thank her:

"Learning about art is so much fun, especially when we do it the way we did it with you. You are the greatest art teacher ever, I mean the bestest in the universe, even Leanardo Davinchi [sic] couldn't have done a better job than you."

"I loved the trip to your Art Gallery and hope we can come again. I was simply amazed by how fun it was."

"Thank you so much for showing us around the gallery. I thoroughly enjoyed it, it was the best trip ever. I will give up TV and start doing art instead. It was great."

"I thought every piece of art was fab and I loved the art lesson. The day of the trip was great for me, I loved every single second of it. I went home saying today our school trip was fantastic and the shop had loads of cool stuff! Please let us come again. PLEASE!"

"The art museum was so fun I think you deserve a big box of chocolates the size of an elephant. Please may we come again, it was so fun that I had a dream that I did everything and bought everything in the shop."
