Artsminds has been a positive step forward in Swindon , enabling greater visibility of opportunites for artists working in & around the area.

The artminds evenings provide a good forum to share thinking , meet new interested people & propose new ideas.

I am an artist/web designer who has recently moved to Swindon. In the few months living here I have been surprised to find such a thriving and accessible art community. Previously I lived in Malaysia, Hong Kong and Australia and since returning to the UK in Hertfordshire. This is the first time that I have been able to meet so many other artists in such a short time and to have such easy access to information on a variety of courses and jobs. By joining Artsmatrix and Artsminds I have become an instant member of the community and have been able to get involved in a range of activities.

I have helped with art workshops in local schools with fellow members No Added Sugar and have attended a Personal Development Session at Artsmatrix. Through your web links I have been in contact with Reach Inclusive and have been offered work on their website as well as the opportunity to run several art workshops in the summer. I have found your bulletins to be a great source of information and was delighted to find so many subsidised courses available to art practitioners. I have since applied for both South West Arts Marketing Training and Artsmatrix Management for Creative People as well as SWRYAN's Effective Practice Award. By attending your meetings I have become involved in coordinating this year's open studios as well as having met several artists who would like me to develop web sites for them.

I have no doubt that I would not have been able to achieve so much in such a short period of time had it not been for Artsminds providing me with the information I needed and the opportunities to network within the art community.
