Children’s camp to provide parents with half-term childcare

​Parents can take advantage of a children’s camp in February half term.

The Hi5 camp is available at Swindon Borough Council’s Haydon Centre in Thames Avenue, Haydon Wick, from Monday, 13 February to Friday, 17 February.

The camp provides activities for children of primary school age (four to 12) and covers all aspects of a child’s development and well-being including their emotional and social needs.

Hi5 is registered with OFSTED and the holiday camp encompasses the criteria laid down in their guidelines.

All staff have undergone in-house training courses on child protection and welfare and staff have also been cleared by the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) to work with children.

The activities on offer to children, which vary from day to day, include:

  • Team and ball games like football
  • Short Tennis
  • Basketball
  • Trampolining
  • Bouncy Castle
  • Quizzes
  • Electronic games
  • Music and dance
  • Arts and craft

The camp runs from 9.30am until 4.30pm although an early start is available from 8.15am and a late finish until 5.45pm.

A standard day’s childcare runs from 9.30am until 4.30pm and costs £17.50 with a Swindon card and £23.10 without a Swindon card.  A standard day with an early start from 8.15am or a late finish until 5.45pm is £20.65 with a Swindon card and £27.25 without a Swindon card.  A standard day with an early start and a late finish is £23.75 with a Swindon card and £31.35 without a Swindon card.
