Other Council Buildings and Venues

​Inspired by Swindon Photographer Albert Beaney’s collection of 40,000 photographs of Swindon residents from the 1940s – 70s, this exhibition showcases both the Beaney archive and the photographs produced by the project’s young artists. 

Over 130 young people from 4 schools participated in this initiative, funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund’s Young Roots Programme. 

Back to Black and White creates a unique record of how young people’s lives in Swindon have changed over the last 70 years. 

Dates and Venues

The Exhibition runs from 14 January 2013 until 20 June 2013 from three different venues, as follows:

• The Great Western Hospital Community Art Gallery - From 14 January 2013 to 22 March 2013.
• The North Swindon Library - From 29 March 2013 to 9 May 2013.
• West Swindon Library - From 10 May 2013 to 20 June 2013.
