Bowl Concerts

King Pleasure and the Biscuit Boys Lokito Soothsayers

The 2009 Bowl Concerts are now over - it's been an amazing season with top quality music which kept thousands of you entertained. We kicked off back in June with the Afro-Caribean beat of Soothsayers, a day which saw hundreds enjoying the music as well as your picnics. It was a great start to the season and we even provided glorious weather for you at no extra cost.

Salsa fans were once again catered for this year as Group Lokito took to the stage in July. From start to finish the dance floor was packed with budding Salsa experts showing off their moves, many of which had be learnt at the dance masterclass which trook place just before the main act. There was certainly a party atmoshpere to this concert and everyone seemed to thouroughly enjoy the event and left on a high.

Asian Music Award winner Sukshinder Shinda provided the perfect end to the Mela in August as crowds of adoring fans danced the night away to his infectious beats. Without doubt this was one of our more popular concerts of the season. Sukshinder certainly has a strong fan base, largley of screaming young female fans who tried their very best to get up close and perosnal with the man himself.

King Pleasure and the Biscuit Boys provided a more relaxed concert with their own style of swing and although the crowd was a little smaller they certainly made the most of it and kept the dancefloor busy throughout the night. Once again a dance masterclass was thrown in as an added bonus to give the crowd a lesson in Swing dancing.

Finally Swindon Invincible 2009 brought the season to a close in style for the second year runnning with a sellout crowd partying throughout the day at the Bowl. The atmosphere was electric and it is certainly going to take some work to try and top this next year!

This year's concerts may be over but we are working hard on the 2010 lineup. Our marketing team have been carrying out a survey and taking your feedback on the type of music you would like to see at future Bowl Concerts so look out for news soon on next year's line up where we hope there will be something to suit every musical taste.
